Nipun Mehta, a gift for the world
Nipun Mehta appears as one of the most inspiring persons I have ever met. A few years ago, he and I met as guest speakers in a conference on the gift economy in California. I shared some ideas about collective intelligence and the coming of free currencies as a possible infrastructure for global generosity at a massive scale. Nipun came from direct grassroot practice of generosity and giftism operating through wide networks of people. He had tons of inspiring stories to share, each of them seeding generosity in our hearts. Small communities and trust networks rely on gift economy. In these human ecosystems we learn that what we give comes back to us. Games theory call it a “positive sum economy”. Hence gift economy plays a central role in the...
Read MoreFrom Centifolia to Centisophia
Two years ago I participated in the making of an event called Centifolia (scheduled late Oct. 2011). This event gathered players in the perfumes & cosmetics industry in the city of Grasse, South of France, known as the world capital of perfume. What did I do in such an event, and what interest should I have in this sector of the economy? First, my co-creative partners and I had 100% freedom to design the event in order to increase its collective intelligence. Second, the perfumes & cosmetics sector, that many people consider as superficial and useless, occupies in reality an important place in our everyday life, and in the economy in general. Indeed, viral ideas and collective intelligence actions can potentially provoke an inspiring and leveraging wave,...
Read MoreThe 6 agreements
The 6 Agreements serve as a social architecture to invite wisdom through dialog and conversation. A pdf version is available here. 1. A deep full breath before speaking This breath has many virtues. It helps participants to let go of their selfish urge to keep a grasp on the conversation. They can surrender to what emerges from the center. Participants offer time to themselves to observe their inner processes. What has just been said becomes deeply listened to and ‘breathed in.’ Participants move from reaction (responding, taking the floor) to creation (inviting creativity through emergence). Interestingly, each time one speaks right after someone else, leaving no space for breathing and creativity, the lower self takes control. 2. Listen to the center...

No matter what events you decide to attend, be punctual if you want to participate. Late comers can only attend as passive listeners. These spaces will happen in English, unless another language like French or Spanish gets chosen by the participants. Bring your wonder, your joy, your smile and playfulness! Read MoreThe Great Sense
Here comes below a crucial text from Satprem that a friend of mine from Auroville (thanks Claude!) gave me while I spend a whole month there. I can’t resist to share this text in which I see so much force. It resonates with the words I share during my conferences on the evolution of our species. The difference? He wrote it in 1969. The Great Sense This is the time of the Great Sense. We look to the right or to the left, we build theories, reform our Churches, invent super-machines and we go out in the streets to break the Machine that stifles us – we struggle in the small sense. When the terrestrial ship is sinking, does it matter whether the passengers drown to the right or left, under a flag black or red, or one of celestial blue? Our Churches have...
